A Journey of Purpose, Pain, and Passion

How losing everything led me to my dream: the story behind Bella Grey Photography & Studio isn’t just a blog title—it’s the heart of everything we’ve built.

Ten years ago, I never imagined I’d be leading an Orlando family and wedding photography studio that captures more than just beautiful images—we capture emotional legacies, quiet moments, and the magic of real connection. Back then, my days were filled with spreadsheets, strategies, and boardrooms. I was fully immersed in corporate America, convinced I had found my “forever career.”

But life had other plans.

The Corporate Climb and the hard Fall

For years, I thrived as a recruiter at a Fortune 500 company, helping everyone from bank tellers to top-level executives find their place. But my true passion was always mentoring—especially guiding college students as they began shaping their futures. I genuinely loved my work. Then one day, without warning, it all came to a halt. I was laid off.

At the same time, everything at home was falling apart. My husband and I had spent years trying to conceive, enduring multiple rounds of IVF and countless heartbreaks. Despite the love we shared, our marriage quietly came to an end.

In what felt like a single breath, I lost my career, my marriage, my home—and the dream of becoming a mother. My world, everything I thought was secure, had completely shattered.

But looking back, that breaking point became my turning point. Because how losing everything led me to my dream: the story behind Bella Grey Photography & Studio is not just a title it’s my truth.

A New Chapter: Rediscovering Myself

I gave myself grace, and time. Two full years to heal, to rediscover who I was outside of titles, roles, and expectations. Those two years were nothing short of transformative. I leaned into my friendships, traveled, found laughter again, and slowly began piecing myself back together.

Then, when I least expected it, life surprised me in the most beautiful way.

I met a man who would change everything. I became pregnant—something I had almost given up hope on—and gave birth to my miracle daughter. A few years later, we were blessed again with another child. Motherhood gave me a renewed sense of purpose, but it also made one truth impossible to ignore: I couldn’t go back to corporate life. The daycare drop-offs, the missed milestones—I knew I was meant for something different.

One day, my husband turned to me and said, “Why don’t we build something of our own?”

That simple question lit a spark in my soul. It became the beginning of everything. And ultimately, it’s the reason how losing everything led me to my dream: the story behind Bella Grey Photography & Studio.

The Birth of a Creative Passion

While pregnant, I made the decision to step away from the traditional workforce so I could focus on my health and my daughter. But I’ve never been someone who can sit still—I needed a creative outlet, something to pour my energy and heart into.

That’s when I launched an Etsy shop, designing baby clothes and shoes. I used my daughter as my tiny, adorable model, capturing every piece with love through my lens. Before long, I was up until 3 a.m., sewing, packaging, and shipping orders. My background in marketing helped me grow the shop quickly—but it took off so fast, I found myself overwhelmed and exhausted.

So I paused. And in that stillness, I uncovered two powerful truths:

I loved being creative.

And I wanted to build something that could truly last.

That’s when photography, a passion I had always carried quietly, stepped boldly into center stage.

Entering the World of Photography (Even When It Terrified Us)

It all began with just me and my camera. But my husband—my biggest encourager—jumped in headfirst, diving into the technical side of things. He looked at me and said, “If you’re going to do this, then let’s do it right.”

Together, we immersed ourselves in the world of lighting, equipment, and editing. We learned how to master both natural and artificial light, finding ways to enhance photos without ever losing their authenticity. That dedication quickly became our signature in a saturated market.

I built our first in-home studio and started capturing families, children, and babies. Every session filled me with joy. But even then, I could feel it something bigger was waiting just around the corner.

The Leap into Weddings

Weddings used to scare me because I understood that there is only one chance, no do-overs. But something about them spoke directly to my soul. So, we trained relentlessly, invested in backup gear, and prepared ourselves for every possible scenario.

We began with engagement sessions, gradually stepping into weddings. Then came our first major wedding. The couple looked at us and said, “We love your story. We trust you.”

That simple moment of belief changed everything. It was the confirmation we didn’t know we needed. This wasn’t just work—it was our calling.

Standing Out in a Saturated Market

The wedding market is undeniably competitive, but we knew from the start that we didn’t want to blend in. Instead, we chose to stand out by simply being ourselves—authentic, transparent, and deeply relationship-focused. Giving back, serving, and collaborating became the foundation of our mission.

One of our greatest joys has been using photography as a way to give back. From offering professional headshots to teachers, to gifting free sessions for church members, to capturing back-to-school portraits for families—we’ve always looked for ways to uplift those around us through our lens.

Because at the heart of it all, this journey has never just been about business. It’s about service. It’s about caring. It’s about impact. And ultimately, how losing everything led me to my dream: the story behind Bella Grey Photography & Studio.

Growth, Purpose, and Legacy

In the midst of rebuilding my life, I made a bold move—I went back to school and earned a second degree in cybersecurity. Having a backup plan has always been important to me, and investing in my education gave me the confidence to move forward. I also drew from my years of experience in corporate operations and leadership, channeling those lessons into growing Bella Grey into something far more meaningful than just a business.

Bella Grey Studios has now evolved into a vibrant creative brand. We offer photography, videography, content creation, and day-of coordination services. Alongside my husband Tee, we’ve assembled a team of passionate creators who not only share our vision but also lead with heart and authenticity. One of my proudest achievements? We’ve been able to pay our team salaries that rival what I once earned in the corporate world. That’s what legacy looks like for us.

We’re Andrea and Tee, a husband-and-wife duo, business partners, parents to two miracle babies, and proud puppy parents to our golden doodle, Hero. As a Disney-loving, pin-trading family, joy and creativity are core to everything we do. But Bella Grey is more than a job—it’s a story of love, resilience, and purpose. It’s the dream that bloomed after everything else fell apart. Truly, how losing everything led me to my dream: the story behind Bella Grey Photography & Studio is a reminder that hope rises even in the darkest chapters. Beauty can be born from brokenness.

At Bella Grey Studios, we believe in community over competition. Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. We care deeply, give back often, and lift others as we grow. Whether it’s mentoring, supporting fellow vendors, or creating heartfelt content that empowers our community, we lead with purpose.

Because photography isn’t just about snapping pretty pictures. It’s about telling real stories. It’s about capturing life through the lens of a mom, daughter, and wife. That’s our mission. That’s our joy. That’s Bella Grey.
